Multiple Disabilities

Summary of Program

As Multiple Disabilities class, our students have varying of disabilities and a wide range of talents that make our classes unique and fun.   In addition to academics, students work on life skills and becoming independent.  They learn to follow classroom rules and practice school safety.  Students explore their school and their environment as part of their participation in the MOVE program.  Students communicate in their own ways such as through signs, gestures, speech and other assisted communication methods such as switches and picture boards.  We use the Unique learning system and work on many different subjects such as math, science, reading, etc.  Lessons are taught in a fun, motivating ways including using technology such as the Tech Tubs and music which helps them to explore their horizons.  We modify material to make it motivating and accessible to everyone.
